Locals Find New Favorites
Annette N (Colorado Springs, CO) - January 4, 2012

My husband and I went on the Tejon Street tour and were delighted to discover some new favorite restaurants in town. With Colorado Springs being the chain restaurant and fast food capital of America, we were always looking for small, locally owned restaurants to frequent. This can be a daunting and expensive proposition. However, going on any of the Colorado Springs Food Tours is a fabulous way to try numerous different venues without spending a lot of cash. A new addition in town, Conscious Table, was a huge hit with us. They focus on using local food grown with respect for the environment and put it all together with enormous skill and flare. We took the family there a week after our tour and had an amazing meal. We also enjoyed each and every other stop on our tour. Colorado Springs Food Tours is a delightful, frugal and filling way to find new favorite places to dine.

Delicious, Educational, and FUN!
schierholtz (Colorado Springs, CO) - January 4, 2012

I am a Colorado native, and having lived in Colorado Springs most of my life, I thought I was pretty well educated on the dining options around the town. However, when I was able to go on the Wild West food tour, my eyes, mind, and taste buds were opened to many of the different options in Old Colorado City. Each stop was delicious, and it was fun to meet new people along the way. I will certainly be revisiting the dining destinations and attending another tour with Colorado Springs Food Tours!

Go on a tour, find the gems and get to know the background of the restaurants.

TC C (Colorado Springs, CO) - September 25, 2011

Just to let everyone know that Food Tour we took on Thursday was amazing. Not only was the food great but it was so fun getting to know the background about the restaurants. Also Samantha's narrative on facts about Old Colorado City was informative and very interesting. Go on a tour, find the gems your are missing.

Great way to sample the fare of a city!
kht53 (Colorado Springs, CO) - September 24, 2011

Samantha Bruner leads guests on an enjoyable walking tour of a well-chosen variety of restaurants. The timing is perfect as restaurants seat and serve their sampling in 20-minute stops. Samplings include wine, beer, food, appetizers, spices, desserts, a look at the menu, and an overview of the restaurant by staff. The tour includes local history.

Great Evening!

2OkieCruisers (Oklahoma) - September 23, 2011

We chose the "Wild West" Food tour in Old Colorado City. It was a beautiful evening for a walking tour. Guide, Samantha, was very personable and adept at keeping conversation flowing between the couples on the tour. The food choices were all awesome! It was so hard to choose a favorite, not a bad selection in the bunch! Was a great way to sample several restaurants in the area! An absolute "must-do" tour if you're in the Colorado springs area.

Fantastic Experience

Cantravguy (Toronto, Canada) - July 30, 2011

My family went on this dinner tour lead by Samantha who is very knowledgeable about the history of the selected restaurants. The six dining choices were varied and showcased Colorado Springs best offers- Greek, Italian, Spanish, Americana, creamery and custom gourmet. I recommend this tour to any foodie in Colorado Springs. Kudos to Samantha for a job well done!

A Culinary 'Tour de Force'...!
LISAR2269 (Lexington, KY) - July 25, 2011

We are a family of 4 with 2 teenage daughters who were visiting Colorado Springs for the first time. The tour was one of our first activities in Colorado and we really enjoyed it! We were treated to samples from 6 restaurants that varied from upscale and eclectic to much-better-than-average wings at a local restaurant/bar. Tapateria was excellent ... a great concept that is well executed; the manager was very personable and made us feel very welcome. Garden of the Gods Gourmet specializes in catering but served us a nice selection of appetizers and an AMAZING chocolate mousse; our hosts were friendly and shared a wealth of information on local attractions. We enjoyed the Greek food samples so much, we returned to Jake and Telly's the next day for lunch. One of the owners hosted our group and he was very entertaining, sharing information on Greek traditions along with a shot of ouzo (Opa!). The wings and locally brewed beer at Meadow Muffins were great ... best wings I've ever had. The decor was interesting and our host pointed out several famous movie props that were displayed throughout the building. The Colorado City Creamery, with it's life size cow statue out front, offered an excellent selection of unique flavors. And the cow graciously posed for pictures (grin).

The tour is updated periodically to include different restaurants. I would highly recommend a food tour (this company offers three different tours) as a great way to learn a little local history and find some new places to eat. Alcohol was included in two of the stops and available at a third, although my non-drinking husband and daughters enjoyed the tour just as much without it.

I would not recommend the tour for small children as there is a definite schedule to be kept. There is some walking .. a few blocks between restaurants at most .. and our evening tour was perfectly timed to take advantage of the cool evening air while still daylight.

Many thanks to our guide who was outgoing and knowledgeable about the local history. Enjoyed it immensely!

Wonderful tour!!
want2getaway (Aurora, CO) - July 8, 2011

Having done a restaurant walking tour in Denver, wanted to give it a try while in Colorado Springs with my daughter. So glad we did!! Samantha was a terrific guide, friendly and knowledgeable about the restaurants and the area. She had a wonderful rapport with all the restaurants and kept the tour moving at a relaxing pace, we never felt rushed or that we were at one location too long. The food and restaurants were outstanding, we especially liked Jake and Telly's and the Garden of Gods Gourmet Market. It was like a night out with friends. Just received a great follow up email from Samantha today with the restaurant information from the tour as well as a group picture, very nice touch! This is definitely worth your time and money and you won't go away hungry either. Highly recommended! Can't wait to do the other tours.

One of My Favorite "Tours" on Our Colorado Springs Vacation
Jacque113 (Henderson, NE) - June 28, 2011

This was such a fun and unique tour. The kind of people that go on this food tour are friendly and easy to visit with. The food was wonderful and learning some of the history of Colorado Springs was an added bonus. Samantha was an excellent food tour guide. Her and her mom have come up with a wonderful business venture.

Educational, savory and fun!!

meems323 (Colorado Springs, CO) - May 8, 2011

Took the 5/7/11 tour with Samantha as our guide. She was the epitome of gracious and knowledgeable and entertaining. The entire group was friendly and cooperated fully to keep to Samantha's schedule. The food was all delicious and though I'd been to a few of the destinations before it was still very enjoyable to sample what they obviously felt was some of their best offerings. Reacquainted myself with Guissepe's since I hadn't been there for years and was pleasantly surprised to discover how good it now has become. The real treat was the German crepe we had for dessert. Wow! Had never been there but will certainly return. Hope this tour remains a Colorado Springs attraction.

Fabulous Girls Day Out!

ksua2 (Colorado Springs, CO) - March 7, 2011

I recently went on the Tejon Street tour with four of my friends. Samantha (one of the owners) was a great tour guide. Not only did she make the tour light and fun, she provided us with great history tidbits along the way. I have lived here in Colorado Springs for five years and had not visited any of the restaurants before the tour. I can assure you, I will be going back to them soon. My friends and I walked away stuffed and have already made plans to go on the other two tours. It was such a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon, thank you!

My husband, daughter and myself did the Tour of Tejon. Not only did we have a great day with Samantha and Karen, we were stuffed when we were done! I have re-visited several of the place we toured that day, and now know the proper way to say "WEber"! I would highly recommend this tour for anyone seeking adventure and a culinary experience!

My husband and I had never been on a food tour and decided to try this on during our first time in Colorado Springs. The experience we had on the Taste of Tejon tour will be difficult to top on another food tour. We were able to try food and fun drinks from 7 places --I think it is normally 6, and everything tasted great. We even went back to one of the restaraunts--Slayton's--afterward to try other martinis after having a great berry martini there. Our guides, Samantha and Karen, were excellent and gave us a detailed history of the city as we made our way to each location. In three hours we tried coffee, chicken, beer, martini, beef, pizza, salad, gordita, horchata, pie and several other things. If you've seen Pike's Peak and GOTG and are looking for something fun and different, definitely try this tour--you will be satisfied!

New Experience - Worth the Price

wendyprinz (Frederick, CO) November 1, 2010

I had not heard of food tours previously...my hubby surprised me with this as part of a weekend getaway. It was my favorite event of the whole weekend. Looking forward to doing other food tours in different cities now.
